Having access to a full kitchen and grocery stores like Kroger and Fresh Market being only an 8-minute drive away, home away from home cooking might be right up your alley—and our apartments let you do just that. However, if you get tired of the homemade, go for the home grown!

Augusta has many food experiences that are as diverse as the locals. If you’re feeling like a morning pick me up close to the house (.8 miles away) pay Buona Caffe Artisan Roasted Coffee a visit. (You can find their coffee beans in the coffee area of the apartments.) They started as coffee roasters in 2010 and added their coffee shop to the mix in 2013 which has been thriving ever since. They have a roast for any mood, if you’re feeling a bit nutty try their Brazilian Fazenda Do Salto or if you’re like me and feel dark and chocolatey most days give the Bali Blue Moon a shot. No caffeine overload, no problem! They also serve a variety of teas that can accompany quiches, bagels, pastries, and sandwiches. Check out their Instagram: @buonacaffe.

When you think of Augusta, the first thing that comes to mind probably isn’t Ecuadorian coffee, but maybe it should be.

The Relic Coffee Company is an Ecuadorian Café and Bakery on Monte Sano Avenue conveniently .7 miles away from the house that serves old-fashioned Ecuadorian specialties in a new-fashioned way. They’re the only coffee shop in Augusta to use Ecuadorian beans hand-picked by industry experts from family farms throughout Ecuador to bring a little taste of Ecuador to you. They also offer traditional Ecuadorian drinks that aren’t coffee such as their Ecuadorian Cacao, an Ecuadorian style chocolate milk that can be served hot or iced, or their Canelazo which is a traditional Ecuadorian specialty of cinnamon and black tea paired with orange peel and cloves. Along with a diverse selection of coffee, teas, and smoothies they also serve light bites like sourdough rolls baked with turkey and gouda. Check out their Instagram: @reliccoffeecompany.

If you’re looking for more than a bite Augusta has many restaurants and cultural cuisines to choose from for larger meals. Let’s begin with restaurants closest to the house.

Midtown Tavern is an all-American bar and grill on Central Avenue (.6 miles away) that specializes in quality food and service. If you’re looking for an attentive yet laid back dining experience that’s coupled with stellar food and elegant vibes, Midtown Tavern might just be the place for you! If you should pay them a visit, give their Twice Cooked Chicken Wings a try but don’t forget to add one of their margaritas to the mix for a one-of-a-kind experience! Sneak a peek @midtowntavernaugusta.

Arsenal Tap Room and Kitchen on Monte Sano Avenue (.6 miles away) is another restaurant that goes all in for  all-American cuisine but what really stands out is their bar that boasts over 150+ craft beers with variety stretching from the Lambics of Pajottenland, Belgium to milky stouts brewed a block away. If it seems like there might be a little too much variety, trust your server to help guide your experience! While the beer list is extensive, so is their menu knowledge and willingness to help in making the right selection for you. Between the service, beer, and food selection it’s a great place to watch time melt away while enjoying a new experience or two. Check them out @Arsenal Tap Room + Kitchen.

If you’re looking for a cottage experience, pay Sheehan’s Irish Pub and Restaurant a visit! They’re only .6 miles away and offer upscale dining with Irish cottage vibes. Even though Sheehan’s is an Irish Pub, they carry a wide array of menu items ranging from Baja shrimp tacos to tortellini frutti di mare. So, if you happen to be looking for a diverse menu in a casual cottage atmosphere, Sheehan’s has you covered and with the shrimp bisque being as good as it is, it’s almost a must have in your Augusta eatery experience. Sneak a peek @sheehansaugusta.

Anyone who’s an Augusta native knows about the historic hotel called The Partridge Inn located on Walton Way (.7 miles away), this is understandable since it’s been around since 1892 and has housed many notable figures. It now plays host to our next restaurant recommendation! On the second floor of  this historic inn resides an eatery named 8595 which is an upscale bar and restaurant that serves traditional southern cuisine with a modern twist. Not only can you get a bite to eat, you can do so while listening to the smooth sounds of the south as they sometimes have live music which gives you the option to dance and dine. Since live music isn’t always available, I would call ahead to see when live music is going to be an option during your stay. While live music isn't always available, the shrimp and grits are, and I would highly recommend giving it a go it as it’s one of the best plates of shrimp and grits I’ve ever had. Check them out on Instagram @8595restaurantbar.
